Budget Director

Career

Justina Tate was appointed Budget Director in February 2017. Ms. Tate is responsible for the development and monitoring of the City’s Annual Operating and Capital Budgets, totaling $2.7 Billion for FY 2018.

Ms. Tate has 14 years of municipal government experience, most recently as Assistant Director of the Budget Office. She began with the City of San Antonio in 2010 where she worked for the City Manager’s Office providing support to the Assistant City Manager.

Prior to joining the City of San Antonio, Ms. Tate was an Assistant to the City Manager in Woodinville, Washington (2007 to 2009) and an Assistant City Administrator in Crestwood, Missouri (2004 to 2007). In these positions, Ms. Tate was responsible for overseeing the development of the Operating and Capital Budgets, Human Resources, Emergency Preparedness, and also served as a Public Information Officer.

Professional Memberships and Community Involvement

Ms. Tate and her husband, Ryan, have two children and two dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family and running.
