SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 6, 2017)—If you are planning to travel abroad this summer, you’ll need a passport. The City of San Antonio Office of the City Clerk will host a Passport & Vital Records Day on Saturday, Mar. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
When preparing for International Travel, many people forget to apply early enough to get a passport. Fortunately, the City Clerk’s Office can help residents get their passport, take passport photos and access long form birth certificate, if born in the City of San Antonio.
The U.S. Government expects to issue 20 million passports in 2017. The average time to obtain a passport is approximately 6 weeks for routine service processing, while expedited services cost an additional $60 fee and will process in 2 to 3 weeks. Save the $60 expedite fee by planning ahead.
If you plan to bring your family to our passport and vital records day our office services walk-ins and appointments can be made by calling (210) 207-4214.
The City Clerks Office also provides passport photos services for an additional fee of $16.24. Many times passport photos are rejected for a variety of reasons including; glare on glasses, the U.S. Department of state no longer accepts photos with glasses; over or underexposed images; wrong background color; and wrong image size. The City Clerk passport staff follows the U.S. Department of State’s guidelines to ensure that your photo is passport-ready.
