City of San Antonio seeks applicants for At-Large Positions for the Airport Advisory Commission

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 16, 2020) – Applications are being accepted for the City of San Antonio’s Airport Advisory Commission (AAC) for 11 positions total with 2 having a term of office to expire March 18, 2021 and 9 having a term of office to expire March 18, 2022. Individuals interested in applying may do so online using the City’s web-based application for boards and commissions at: https://webapp9.sanantonio.gov/BoardCommApplication/vacancies. The deadline to submit applications is November 6, 2020.

The primary purpose of the AAC is to advise the City’s Aviation Director on policies affecting the San Antonio International and Stinson Municipal Airports.  In addition, Commissioners act as advocates for the San Antonio Airport System and encourage participation from the community, airlines, regulatory agencies, and other beneficiaries of air transportation in the development of its Strategic Plan.  

Individuals from the following Categories are encouraged to apply:  Aviation Industry (1 position), Business Community (3 positions), Federal Aviation Administration (1 position) General Community (4 positions), Ground Transportation Industry (1 position), and Travel & Tourism Industry (1 position). 

Meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. at the San Antonio International Airport and members of the commission receive no compensation. For assistance with the application please contact Melinda L. Uriegas, Assistant City Clerk, at 210-207-7253.
