SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 6, 2018) — Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who serves on the Board of Trustees of CPS Energy, announced his support for the appointment of Terri Williams to the Board. Williams was selected unanimously by trustees at a meeting Monday, following a six-month application and interview process.
“The board considered a diverse pool of highly qualified individuals,” Mayor Nirenberg said. “However, Terri Williams has a vision for the future of CPS Energy and a nuanced understanding of its role in this growing community.”
Ms. Williams currently serves as the Director of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center for UTSA’s Small Business Development Center, has a 28-year career in economic development. In prior positions, Terri worked at Brooks City-Base, Port San Antonio, and in the City’s Economic Development Department. She is active in the community, and sits on a number of non-profit boards.
Judge Nelson Wolff also applauded the nomination, citing her career achievements.
“I am pleased that Terri Williams is joining the CPS Energy Board of Trustees,” Judge Wolff said. “She has a long track record of economic development and small business advocacy.”
The City Council is expected to consider the nomination at its March 1 meeting.
