Student ambassadors will participate in workshops, trainings, and activities led by San Antonio leaders to identify their dream for a healthier school campus. Student ambassadors will take part in a discovery checklist of their school campus to showcase the school environment related to physical activity and nutrition. They also will implement a strategy to promote physical activity and healthy eating. Student ambassadors will have an opportunity showcase their work and creativity by helping to plan a Citywide Youth Summit.
Applications are due May 11, 2012. Approximately 35 students will be selected to serve as Mayor Julián Castro's distinguished Mayor's Fitness Council Student Ambassadors. Students who serve as student ambassadors must be in grades 5th - 12th during the 2012 - 2013 academic year and attend a school in Bexar County.
