The City of San Antonio and Downtown Tuesday announce several events lined up for the month of December in time to celebrate the holidays.
Holiday Swing Jazz Concert
South Texas Jazz presents Holiday Swing on Tuesday, December 3 featuring the holiday sounds of Dr. Brent Watkins and his Orchestra at the Empire Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Before the show, enjoy free live music along Houston Street at Lüke’s, Bohanan’s and in front of the Sheraton Gunter Hotel. Holidays on Houston Street
Holidays on Houston Street will feature a tree lighting ceremony outside Bohanan’s with holiday cocktails on Tuesday, December 3. A portion of event proceeds will benefit SAY Si. For more information, call 210-569-6908.
OPEN Downtown Pop-Up shops debut on December 3 and continue through December 21 on Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at selected locations along Houston Street. A variety of temporary retail shops will be open for holiday shopping, and guests will enjoy other activities including pictures with Santa, carolers, and free gift wrapping. Mayor Castro’s Light Up Downtown Holiday Contest
Mayor Castro’s Light Up Downtown street-level holiday lighting contest will be on showcase now until Saturday, January 4, with online voting continuing through December 19. Vote for favorite displays daily at www.lightupdowntownsa.com.
