On Thursday, May 8, 2014 more than 200 San Antonio-based Keller Williams Realty agents will volunteer in District 5 in observance of RED (Renew, Energize, and Donate) Day, a Keller Williams Realty service initiative dedicated to improving local communities.
Keller Williams Realty has teamed up with District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales and her staff to paint two deteriorating District 5 homes on the 100 block on Helena St. Volunteers will also mulch, clean and paint-over graffiti at Normoyle Park and will distribute as many as 50 fans to District 5 seniors to keep cool this summer.
The Keller Williams Realty San Antonio Agent Leadership Council purchased and donated needed items to Normoyle Park, including mirrors for senior Zumba classes, diaper changing tables for park facilities, and shades for the play ground area.
“I am very happy and grateful to have this group come to District 5 to help out our community,” said Councilwoman Gonzales. “Their generosity of time and resources will be felt immediately and well into the future.”
These efforts directly support one of the district’s newest initiatives, Let’s Paint District 5, conceived to improve the appearance and sustainability of homes in the near Westside and Southwest sides of San Antonio.
Volunteers will be available for interviews at Normoyle Park, 700 Culberson, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
