On Saturday, June 7, 2014 District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales and Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) will serve as co-hosts and panelists in an open discussion on the topic of immigration. Alongside will be attorneys, organizations, and other invited elected officials who are involved in immigration issues.
The panel discussion will take place in the cafeteria of Burbank High School, 1002 Edwards, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, so anyone with concerns regarding immigration is encouraged to attend.
In addition, a screening of the documentary “The Dream is Now” by David Guggenheim will precede the panel, exploring the elements of the immigration issue on a national level.
