PUBLIC NOTICE: Municipal Court Operations and response to the developing COVID-19 pandemic

Coronavirus (COVID -19) and Court Appearances

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of San Antonio Municipal Court, with high regard for the safety of the community and our staff, will be closed to the public for in person appearances.

All appearances, including traffic, parking, civil, pretrial conferences, hearings or trials can be resolved by the following contact-free methods:

All individuals are encouraged to call or email the Court in lieu of making personal appearances to take care of their court business.

Vulnerable Populations

If you are over age 65 or have a serious underlying health condition, such as high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, or you have an immune system compromised by chemotherapy for cancer or other conditions requiring such therapy please contact the court by calling 210.207.8970 to discuss alternate accommodations to resolve your case.

Virtual Court Viewings

Per Texas Office of Court Administration guidelines, in order to ensure that the public has reasonable notice of where to observe court proceedings conducted via Zoom video conferencing, the courts have Youtube channels available for viewing hearings. There is no requirement to keep the proceeding on YouTube after the completion of the hearing. It may be deleted immediately. Recording is not permitted and anyone doing so may be subject to contempt by the court.

TODAS LAS LISTAS DE CASOS ESTÁN CANCELADAS EN ESTE MOMENTO. ESTO INCLUYE:

  • Audiencias de Estacionamiento y Audiencias Administrativas Civiles
  • Juicios
  • Audiencias y Mediaciones de Menores
  • Audiencias de Suspención de DPS
  • Eliminaciones de Registros

A PESAR QUE LAS OPERACIONES DE LA CORTE ESTÁN CERRADAS AL PÚBLICO, ESTAMOS DISPONIBLES PARA AYUDAR A LOS CIUDADANOS A RESOLVER SUS INFRACCIONES DE LAS SIGUIENTES FORMAS:

Incluya su nombre, número de infracción, fecha de nacimiento y un número de teléfono vigente cuando se comunique con la corte . Debido a las circunstancias inusuales, podría haber una demora en contestar sus preguntas de su email, correo regular o de teléfono.

ÓRDENES DE ARRESTO
  • No se emitirán NUEVAS ordenes de arresto.
  • Todas las órdenes de arresto EXISTENTES continuarán activas. Si usted se comunica a la corte, le suspenderemos su orden(es) de arresto.
  • Hasta no recibir confirmación de la corte que su orden de arresto ha sido suspendida, asuma que la orden de arresto sigue activa y que podría ser arrestado(a).

When You Must Appear at the
Municipal Courthouse

Depending on your ticket (citation) and how you plan to handle it, you maybe able to use alternative payment options and court locations:

Online Online

You must appear on the court date and time of your citation or summons. If you contest your violation, you may request that the court set your case for trial. If you do not contest the violation, you may be able to resolve your violation by requesting a driver safety course, deferred disposition, a partial payment, payment plan or community service.

You must appear at the Municipal Courthouse for the following:

  • If you need to plead not guilty and set your case for trial
  • If you need an extension to pay your fine
  • If you need an extension to complete classes/community service hours assigned to you by the Judge
  • If you need to reset your court date
  • If your ticket does not qualify to be resolved online
