Paying Parking Tickets

Payment of parking tickets are a civil offense and payment will not appear on your state driving record. You may review or pay parking tickets online.

No action can be taken in any case prior to the submission of the ticket to the municipal court and the creation of a parking case in the court docketing system. If the case is created after the hearing date on the ticket, a summons with a new hearing date will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle. You can verify that the case has been created by searching for it on the municipal court website.

Contesting Parking Tickets

If you wish to contest a parking ticket, you must appear no later than hearing date listed on the parking ticket. Alternatively, you may contest your parking ticket by mail by sending a letter with the ticket number and any evidence necessary to contest the ticket. A Parking Hearing Officer will review your case and make a ruling.

Disabled Parking Violations

If you received a ticket for a disabled parking violation, bring your placard or evidence of your disabled plate with you. Holders of a disabled placard or plate may be eligible for reduced fines or fees. This information may be submitted by mail.

Finding of Liable or Not Liable

If you are found liable, a fine will be assessed and should be paid immediately. If you are found not liable, no payment is required.

Parking Order Enforcement

Parking hearing orders may be enforced by the following:

  • Vehicle impoundment (towing) if the subject vehicle is found on any public street, public right-of-way, public easement, or city-owned parking facility, or other public property, if the vehicle owner has committed three (3) or more offenses in any calendar year
  • Immobilization of the subject vehicle (booting) if found on any public right-of-way, easement, city owned parking facility or other public property
  • Imposition of a $10 fine after 14 days of non-payment
  • Refusing registration of the subject vehicle
