Keeping you Safe at DSD
In response to COVID-19, please visit our Open for Business web page to learn more about our One Stop entry requirements and DSD's Return to Work plan.
Safety at the Cliff Morton Development & Business Services Center is a top priority. As such, DSD implemented new security measures, including a metal detector, visitor check-in system, and SAPD presence onsite during business hours.
The new visitor check-in system went into effect October 2019 and is similar to that used by local school districts. With the new system, customers will need to present a photo ID at the Meet and Greet desk to obtain a visitor badge. The visitor badge allows customers access to the employee area and second floor training rooms. Customers will need to return the badge upon leaving the building. During your time at the office, customers will be accompanied to and from back office areas by City staff.
Please note the new process requires all visitors to enter at the front of the building to pass through a metal detector. Upon entry, security personnel will scan all personal belongings for prohibited items including:
- Metal nail files
- Pocketknives
- Firearms
- Box cutters
- Scissors
- Razor blades
- Pepper spray
- Stun gun or taser
- Any item designated or altered to function as a weapon
To accommodate the new security measures, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to visiting us for permits, meetings, and board and commission hearings.
In addition, you may park in the lot adjacent to the building or the lot across the street at 1902 S Alamo (usually this one has more capacity); for your safety, please use the crosswalk if parking across the street.
Thank you for helping us make our building a safer place to do business.
