Ballet San Antonio’s fifth annual Ballet in the Park returns on Saturday, March 2.

 

SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 28, 2019) — The community is invited to attend events throughout the month of March at Travis Park, located at 301 E. Travis St.

 

Ballet in the Park
Saturday, March 2, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Free
Enjoy an evening of dance in a unique outdoor setting with Travis Park and Ballet San Antonio’s fifth annual Ballet in the Park. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, family, and friends for an exquisite dance performance from San Antonio's premiere professional ballet company, Ballet San Antonio! At 6 p.m., 8-10 year olds with 1+ years of ballet experience can participate in a fun and exciting ballet class. Class is on a first-come, first-serve basis so arrive early to be one of the first 30 students on stage! Bring your basic ballet attire!

 

At 7 p.m., watch the amazing performance by the artists of Ballet San Antonio. You won't want to miss an evening of dancing under the stars! Be sure to bring your chairs or blankets. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit the Facebook event page.

 

Spring Break Movie Night at Travis Park featuring “Incredibles 2”
Tuesday, March 12, activities begin at 6 p.m., movie begins at dusk, FREE
Join us for a Spring Break Movie Night at Travis Park with a screening of “Incredibles 2”! 
Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, snacks, lawn chairs and other movie essentials. This event is free and open to the public. Enjoy free parking in City-owned lots, garages and meters after 5 p.m. for Downtown Tuesday. For more information, please visit the Facebook event page.

Boss Babes Market Day: Avocado Party in the Park
Saturday, March 30, 3-8 p.m., FREE
Join Boss Babes for their last Monthly Market in Travis Park featuring the Avocado Party of the Season. In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, the market is going green with avocados! The market will feature over 35 vendors with new products, food, and games for everyone to enjoy! The market is kid and dog-friendly (please bring your dogs on leashes). Food Trucks in Travis Park
Enjoy a rotating option of food truck vendors every Monday and Friday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

 

Fitness in the Park Boot Camp
Every Tuesday in March, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., FREE
Take your workout outdoors every Tuesday in March for Travis Park’s Fitness in the Park Boot Camp. Classes include a variety of activities geared towards increasing endurance, power, strength, stamina, and speed. Don’t forget your own reusable water bottle! Free and open to the public.

 

Visitor Parking
There is ample parking near Travis Park. The City of San Antonio has several parking garages, lots and on-street meters nearby, with the nearest one being the St. Mary’s Street Garage on the corner of Travis and St. Mary’s, one block west of Travis Park. The St. Mary’s Street Garage offers $5 flat rate parking on non-event evenings and weekends. A full list of City-owned garages, lots and meters can be found here. Enjoy free parking after 5 p.m. at City operated garages, lots, and meters as part of Downtown Tuesday. In addition, there are numerous non-City owned lots and garages in the area where visitors can park for a fee, including the Travis Park Plaza Garage. For a map, click here.
