SAN ANTONIO (April 1, 2020) — April 1 is Census Day, the day that determines who is counted in the 2020 Census and where they are counted. The census count determines the allocation of billions of dollars annually to federal programs and the redistricting of congressional seats.
Completing the census form can be done in three easy ways:
“Today is the day to get counted,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “This is our once in a decade opportunity to ensure that we receive our fair share of funding and representation. I can’t overstate the importance of getting counted. Your family and neighbors are depending on you to participate.”
Responding right away and on your own reduces the need for census takers to go door-to-door to collect the data. Completing the census online, by phone or mail, now more than ever, will be important to the health of our community and to getting a complete count.
