The holidays are fast approaching and the SAPD SWAT is ready to share some early holiday cheer. SAPD and Baptist Children’s Hospital are proud to host another fun, memorable SAPD SWAT “Superhero Drop”, this year in dedication and honor of Julian Andrade. A former Baptist Children’s Hospital pediatric patient and son of San Antonio Police Officer Jose Andrade, 5 year old Julian lost his battle with cancer in the spring of 2015.
SWAT Officers joined by SAFD Rescue Team members, will dress as various well-known Superheroes and will rappel down the side of Baptist Children’s Hospital. Several young patients, ages 2-16 years of age, will be able to watch the activities through windows, as well as interact with the Superheroes through the glass. Afterward, the Superheroes will come in and interact with the kids. Reps from SAPD, SAFD, and Baptist Children’s Hospital will be on hand for interviews.
