Crockett Lofts at Sunset Station Residential Development Groundbreaking Celebrated

SAN ANTONIO (September 13, 2016) — District 2 City Councilman Alan Warrick, Assistant City Manager Lori Houston, State Rep. Laura Thompson, and representatives from The NRP Group LLC, Zachry Realty LLC and the San Antonio Housing Trust gathered today to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Crockett Lofts at Sunset Station residential development.

Located north of St. Paul Square, Crockett Lofts at Sunset Station will feature 271 units, including 136 workforce housing units, consisting of one and two bedroom units. Amenities will include a unique clubhouse inside a repurposed historic building, swimming pool, barbecue courtyard, dog park, fitness center and a 503-car parking garage offering not only spaces for the community residents but also tenants and patrons of the neighborhood. The four-story wood frame wrap design utilizes area around its neighboring apartment homes, and will be a link between Broadway and Southtown. This new development is intended not only to capture workforce renters, but also some of the students expected to populate St. Paul Square, where the University of Houston is planning to locate its hospitality school branch campus.

Crockett Lofts at Sunset Station is a significant opportunity for residents to call District 2 home,” said District 2 Councilman Alan Warrick. “A catalyst for future growth, this development is part of our efforts toward strengthening the urban core. This project is important not only to the economy, but it also provides much needed workforce housing.”

As part of the Center City Housing Incentive Program, the City will provide more than $619,000 in incentives and SAWS Impact fee waivers for the area’s growth and improvement. The project is scheduled to be completed within two years.
