Last week, our Animal Care Officers sprung into action after getting dispatched to a call for a trapped kitten! The kitten was stuck by a dumpster and desperately crying out for help. Our officers dug to the bottom of the dumpster to see if the kitten was possibly under all of the trash, but no luck. Upon further inspection, the kitten was spotted under the dumpster, but out of reach.
Halloween is fast approaching and ongoing COVID related cautions will likely change some traditional activities like door to door trick-or-treating. Despite this “new normal,” Halloween is still considered a family-oriented holiday and many people like to include their pets in the festivities. Animal Care Services offers these tips to keep your entire family safe--whether they have two legs or four!

The thought alone is stressful, sad, and feels so unlikely that we just end up trying not to think of it at all. Although we can never completely prevent fires from happening, we can have peace of mind by being as prepared as possible to keep us and our pets safe in case they do. The key is to keep our pets in mind and be ready to act at any given time.
