AIR QUALITY LUNCHEON SUMMIT OCT. 6

As part of the Breathe Today SA Tomorrow campaign, the San Antonio Business Journal and City of San Antonio's Office of Sustainability (COSA) is hosting a forum on current air quality standards. The October 6 forum will address the potential impact of nonattainment on businesses and the community, and leaders of small to mid-size companies will learn what they can do to help improve San Antonio's air quality.

Colleen Bridger, MPH, PhD. (CB), health director for the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, joined Mae Escobar (ME) in a candid conversation on BlogTalkRadio to reveal why the quality of the air matters to the health of Bexar County residents. The Metropolitan Health District, best recognized by the public for its food inspections, disease control and immunization, also provides environmental monitoring as one of its many services to maintain a healthy community.

ACS Community Meeting - Draft Recommendations to Chapter 5

Animal Care Services previously hosted a series of public meetings across the community to discuss potential revisions to local animal laws as well as the shelter’s Strategic Plan. 

Since February of this year, Animal Care Services (ACS) held nine public meetings to discuss potential enhancements to the ACS Strategic Plan and updates to local animal laws. ACS collected 1,073 completed surveys regarding ACS operations both from those who attended the public meetings as well as by individuals who completed the survey online.   
Nine (9) draft policy recommendations were identified through the feedback received from the ACS community survey.  

Join ACS for a new series of community meetings to learn more about the potential changes to Chapter 5.
