Uninsured population mapIt is estimated that there are between 100,000 and 300,000 people in Bexar County who are eligible for subsidized insurance through the Marketplace.

Most uninsured with annual incomes between 100 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) are eligible:

  • $24,000 to $94,000 for a family of four and
  • $11,500 and $46,000 for an individual.

Unfortunately, there are no subsidies available to those who make less than 100 percent of FPL.

The ACA Marketplace is an especially good source of affordable, high quality health insurance for those who are

  • self employed
  • unemployed
  • working for small companies that do not offer insurance
  • students
  • working part time
