Metro Health is providing free contraceptive pills for one year as part of a study. It uses a pill that has been prescribed safely for decades. The study is to explore giving a pill without a healthcare provider visit.
No checkup or exam is needed, for most women.
You will be tested for STDs, at a low cost.
- These pills might be right for you if you are motivated to take a pill at about the same time every day.
- These pills do not give you a period during a set week. Some women see this as an advantage.
- Only abstaining (not having sex) is 100% effective against unplanned pregnancy. This pill is 91% effective. We still recommend condoms, which also protect against STDs.
If you answer all these questions with “No,” then please come in to our walk-in STD clinic for easy access to FREE contraception!
