SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 24, 2017) – Halloween is around the corner, and that means the start of “sugar season.” With that in mind the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) is sharing some advice to manage the amount of sugar you and your family consumes.
With almost one-third of children and two-thirds of adults in Bexar County either overweight or obese, it is important for all of us to monitor our sugar intake. This doesn’t mean we have to eliminate sugar completely. It means that those foods with a lot of sugar should be “occasional” foods not “everyday” foods.
