SAN ANTONIO (May 8, 2018) – The Highland Park Neighborhood Farmer’s Market will open for their third season on Saturday May 12 at Highland Park, 901 Rigsby. The market, open to everyone, will provide a fun space for families to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables as well as arts and crafts from local vendors. Attendees will also be able to participate in free, fun, and healthy physical activities. The farmers market will take place every second Saturday from May until October, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This neighborhood market is a collaboration between the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District’s Healthy Neighborhoods program, the Parks & Recreation Department, and local community groups such as the Highland Park Neighborhood Association.
“The farmers market will provide a space for residents to enjoy the outdoors and access fresh fruits and vegetables in the neighborhood,” said Gregory Ripps, president of the Highland Park Neighborhood Association. “We welcome people who grow their own fruits and vegetables, as well as crafters, to sell at the market. The Highland Park Neighborhood Association is happy to play a role in making this possible.”
