SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 5, 2018) — The community is invited to attend events throughout the month of October at Travis Park, located at 301 E. Travis St.
Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 7 from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Blessing at 2 p.m., FREE
Join the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas along with Travis Park United Methodist Church for a ceremony of pet blessings. Blessing of the Animals is celebrated in memory of St. Francis of Assisi, who was a lover of animals. The public can bring their leashed, caged or stuffed animal pets to receive a blessing. Attendees will also enjoy information booths, story-time, food trucks and other fun. A group blessing will take place at 2 p.m.
Eat & Play in Travis Park
Tuesday, October 16, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Enjoy a wide variety of food trucks, live entertainment and activities during this lunchtime event in Travis Park. Any group of four or more who brings their boss out for lunch for Boss’s Day will get half-off of one meal for their boss!
Halloween Market Day in the Park
Sunday, October 28, 3 p.m. – 9 p.m., FREE
The Halloween Market Day in the Park is a free event hosted by Boss Babes Market Days. The event features more than 40 local businesses, and provides a safe Halloween experience for the community. Enjoy shopping, food, and fun Halloween activities including a Monster Bash and a screening of the movie “Monsters Inc.” The movie will begin 15 minutes after sunset, but be sure to arrive early to participate in the free fun and games! Enjoy a rotating option of food truck vendors every weekday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Fitness in the Park Boot Camp
Take your workout outdoors every Tuesday in October for Travis Park’s Fitness in the Park Boot Camp. Classes include a variety of activities geared towards increasing endurance, power, strength, stamina, and speed. Don’t forget your own reusable water bottle! 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

There is ample parking near Travis Park. The City of San Antonio has several parking garages, lots and on-street meters nearby, with the nearest one being the St. Mary’s Street Garage on the corner of Travis and St. Mary’s, one block west of Travis Park. The St. Mary’s Street Garage offers $5 flat rate parking on non-event evenings and weekends. A full list of City-owned garages, lots and meters can be found here. Enjoy free parking after 5 p.m. at City operated garages, lots, and meters as part of Downtown Tuesday.
