SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 18, 2018) – Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales’ statement regarding the City Council’s approval of a land sale and development agreement to assist the University of Texas at San Antonio’s downtown expansion.

“This is a transformative day for District 5. It’s a watershed moment for the Westside and the realization of the long-held dream of educational reach and community development for our community.

Dr. Taylor Eighmy’s vision and energy in moving this forward, as well as Graham Weston’s generous gift to our community will feed the near Westside’s energy and resourcefulness and open the doors of opportunity for generations to come.

I’m looking forward to working with UTSA and the communities that will be impacted by this development to ensure that together we build best future possible.”
