SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 22, 2019) – The City of San Antonio will conduct a public hearing to consider naming the lake at Milam Tealer Park to Lake Verda. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sinclair Elementary Cafeteria at 6126 Sinclair Road, San Antonio, Texas 78222.
The naming of the lake is to recognize Mrs. Verda Tealer, the wife of Milam Wesley Tealer whom the park is named after. Mrs. Tealer has been a long time resident of Lakeside, and like her husband, has been an advocate for the Lakeside community. The proposal is supported by the Lakeside Neighborhood Association who wish to recognize Mrs. Tealer for her countless years of service to the Lakeside community.
An appointed committee will hear public comment and then make a recommendation to City Council, for final action on the proposed naming. More information can be found at SASpeakUp.com.
