San Antonio Police Officer tests positive for COVID-19, contracted through travel
This afternoon, the San Antonio Police Department confirmed that an officer tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The contact investigation of this officer’s case identified travel as the source of the infection.
Metro Health has determined that two other SAPD officers are at a high risk of exposure and will be quarantined for 14 days, in alignment with CDC’s recommendations. Metro Health is evaluating any potential exposure to additional personnel and will determine whether any other measures are necessary. The department continues to take all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all SAPD personnel and the public.
The officer is a seven-year veteran of the department, and we wish him a speedy recovery as he recovers at home.
