SAN ANTONIO (January 13, 2021) – Effective at noon today, Metro Health began scheduling second dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments on-site after patients receive their first dose at the Alamodome to streamline the scheduling process. Previously, people vaccinated were told to register online one week prior to when their second dose was due. Patients who received their first dose of the vaccine at the Alamodome prior to noon today will receive a phone call from Metro Health to schedule their second dose. If a person missed a call from Metro Health and would like to schedule their second dose they can call 311 and select option 8 or email COVID-19@sanantonio.gov. As a reminder at this time front-line healthcare workers and residents at long-term care facilities (called Phase 1A) plus people over 65 or with a chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk for severe illness from COVID‑19 (called Phase 1B) are currently eligible to receive the COVID‑19 vaccine. Phase 1B recipients include:
As Bexar County continues to receive more vaccines, more appointments will be opening. We appreciate the public’s patience and will continue to release appointments on our website as they become available. We encourage everyone to please check daily to see if there are appointments available on our website or by calling 311 and selecting option 8. Hours of operation for the Alamodome vaccine clinic are currently Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. For more information visit: covid19.sanantonio.gov and for frequently asked questions visit: https://covid19.sanantonio.gov/What-YOU-Can-Do/Vaccination#FAQs
