SAN ANTONIO (November 2, 2020) — On Saturday, October 31st, District 3 staff joined The Republic Oaks Homeowners Association in congratulating the winner of the Inaugural Annual Halloween House Decorating Contest. Robert and Debra Alston received a celebratory sign to place in their front yard that read “Republic Oaks Grand Prize Winner”.
District 3 staff visited the Republic Oaks neighborhood on Wednesday, October 28th to help select the house with the most ghoulish spirit of the season. “I was honored to participate in this fun and spooky event. All houses looked fantastic and in spite of our circumstances, we can still celebrate the season. The overall winner incorporated ghosts, goblins, skeletons and Halloween lights in their decor, which immediately stood out among the rest,” said Councilwoman Viagran. “District 3 staff is proud of how the Republic Oaks Homeowners Association has continued to bring their neighborhood together by incorporating community events such as this. Great job everyone!”
Social distancing was practiced, and masks were used during the judging and presenting portions of this event.
