BooksThe Office of the City Clerk Archives Program aims to appropriately house, organize, and make available for research the history of the City of San Antonio. The Archives Program was instituted under City Clerk Leticia M. Vacek in 2005.

Spearheaded by Mrs. Vacek, the Digital Collection was unveiled in 2007 and houses varied collections of historic significance digitized for accessibility via online at the Municipal Archives & Records Digital Repository.

Since the Program's inception more than 300 distinct collections have been created from the records held by the City.  The Program also holds historical maps, artifacts, and gifts presented to the City, all of which are available to view by appointment.

The Archives Program has been funded by grants from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, the San Antonio Conservation Society, and Alamo Area Council of Governments.  The funds made possible by these grants have been utilized to preserve and provide access to documents chronicling San Antonio's heritage.
