SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 25, 2018) – Jammin Jams, the annual fruit and nut tree adoption event, presented by the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, is this Saturday, January 27 at the Pearl.
Starting at 7:30 a.m., 1,500 fruit and nut trees will be given away. Tree varieties include apple, apricot, avocado, fig, lemon, lime, olive, orange, nectarine, peach, pear, pecan, persimmon, plum, and pomegranate. There is a limit of one tree per household. Experts and Horticulturists will be available to answer questions regarding planting and care.
Tree adoption events are designed to promote food security, enhance canopy coverage, and diversify and beautify our community. These events are a way to help residents get involved and make a difference in their neighborhoods. With the increasing popularity of this event, the community is invited to arrive early to ensure the adoption of their preferred tree. Join us in the Pearl parking lot between Avenue A and Hwy 281, just north of Pearl Parkway.
