Discover Nature Event Hosted by San Antonio Parks and Recreation

SAN ANTONIO (September 13, 2019) – The City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department is hosting Discover Nature at Lee’s Creek Park on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 9:00am-12:00pm. This free family festival celebrates nature through hands-on fun for all ages. Enjoy special presentations on Texas dinosaurs with Dinosaur George at 10am and 11am, make nature-inspired art, learn about honey bees, and swing by the pollination station. Adopt a tree while supplies last.

 

Lee’s Creek Park is located at 1215 E. Sunshine Dr. 78228. Parking is available at Longfellow Middle School.

 

Participating organizations include: Texas A&M Forest Service, The Witte Museum, William R. Sinkin Eco Centro, Texas Children in Nature, Bat Conservation International, Texas Master Naturalist – Alamo Area Chapter, San Antonio Parks and Recreation Dog Park Ambassadors, Friends of SANA – San Antonio Natural Areas, Native Plant Society of Texas, Learn Nature, KLRN, Wild about Texas, Gardopia Gardens, San Antonio Solid Waste Management, Southern Wildlife Rehab, and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
