The Public Works Department (PWD) oversees street and drainage maintenance, capital projects for the City of San Antonio. Both the 2007-2012 Bond Program and the 2012-2017 Bond Program are managed by the PWD. Additional projects that are not Bond-funded, like the City Hall Renovation Project and City Tower Project are also handled by the PWD.

SOIL RELOCATION
The Public Works Department (PWD) routinely moves soil as part of the many street, drainage, park and building projects it manages annually. Prior to any excavation, the soil is tested by private, licensed professionals and is compared to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) standards for appropriate reuse or disposition. In accordance with the Soil Relocation Policy and Communication Plan, specific soil relocation work will be listed online.
