The project will improve operational capacity within the project area by realigning Quintana Road. Improvements include adding a left turn lane and an acceleration lane within the Quintana Road and Dunton intersection. Other improvements include constructing a 10’ shared use path on the east side of the roadway for bicyclists and pedestrians, and installing flood control improvements which include a proposed channel and detention pond within the Port San Antonio property.
BACKGROUND
Port San Antonio in conjunction with the City of San Antonio’s Transportation & Capital Improvements department (TCI) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will reconstruct Quintana Road from McKenna to Hubert Harmon Avenue in San Antonio.
