San Antonio, Texas – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the San Antonio Police Department are hosting a joint news conference to provide information on firearms being stolen from vehicles in the greater San Antonio area and to distribute gun locks at no charge to area residents.
ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Mike Weddell and San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus will provide statistics on the frequency of this crime and provide useful information on how to avoid having your firearm stolen and used in a crime. In addition, 600 gun locks will be provided to the SAPD SAFFE Unit for distribution to the community.
