Ambassador Volunteer Program

As soon as you see them, you feel the hospitality. There’s something special about the San Antonio International Airport Ambassadors, a friendly group of volunteers looking out for you. If passengers need directions, Ambassadors will point the way. If guests need assistance, these airport volunteers will lend a hand. Whether directing passengers to a connecting flight, helping to reunite long-lost loves or families, or even taking snapshots for people, there is no task too challenging for SAT ’ s ambassadors. Become one today and feel the gratitude of the thousands of SAT visitors.

You’ll be in great company! There are approximately 200 Ambassadors and they are recognized for their service of excellence. Ambassador service to the airport community and the traveling public is based on volunteers caring about excellent help to airport visitors and providing well-informed assistance.

More than 10 million travelers passed through San Antonio International Airport in 2018. Many of those traveling to San Antonio may be unfamiliar with the airport and may need information assistance once they arrive. That's why the SAT Ambassador Program has been instituted. SAT Ambassadors are volunteers from the community who donate a minimum of 4 hours of their time per week to work in the Ambassador Information booth. Ambassadors provide courteous and friendly assistance and provide a warm welcome to visitors.


The commitments of the ambassadors are to: Attend orientation training sessions in order to become familiar with the airport and the area Commit to teamwork Work a four-hour shift weekly

Volunteers must: Be able to work well with people. Have an outgoing, friendly personality. Possess good communication skills. Be reliable and committed

Being an ambassador has rewards! They include: Free Parking SAT Concession Discounts Quarterly volunteer functions and prizes Service Award pins and gifts Quarterly Newsletter Year-end Ambassador Luncheon with Ambassador of the Year Award

While on duty volunteers will: Meet and greet passengers and visitors Assist visitors with information on transportation, hotels, dining, shopping, area attractions, and points of interest. Answer questions and give "Fun Facts" about San Antonio International Airport and San Antonio. Respond to inquiries and assist in contacting airport personnel May drive courtesy vehicle in parking garage. (not required)
