SAN ANTONIO (April 2, 2017) - Spring is here and that means puppies and kittens are coming into Animal Care Services. Animal Care is always in need of fundamentals like formula and food but the shelter can also use covers and containers to help care for litters that are coming into the shelter. Donations of blankets, towels, heating pads and small glass or plastic jars with lids are the most immediate needs. Additional needed supplies are listed on the Official San Antonio Animal Care Services Amazon wish list. While ACS strongly encourages local pet owners to take advantage of the community’s low cost spay/neuter services, the shelter must prepare for the ongoing litters of baby animals in need of fosters and food. The material is used to provide dry, warm cage lining while the jars can be used to measure out puppy and kitten formula.

Donations can be dropped off anytime seven days a week during regular business hours. ACS is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Fosters are also urgently needed to help care for the incoming litters and other pets coming into the shelter daily. All supplies and basic veterinary care is provided for ACS foster animals. Information on the ACS foster program as well as low cost spay neuter resources can be found anytime at www.saacs.net.
