8 Apr 2019 Summer Youth Program Information Sessions 4/8/2019 10:00 AM - 5/30/2019 8:30 PM

Information sessions for the Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program will be offered March 2 – May 30, 2019. Registration for the Summer Youth Program Opens Saturday, April 13th, 2019.

The Parks and Recreation Department offers a quality, affordable Summer Youth Program, where youth find sports, craft projects, active games, art exploration, fitness and nutrition, reading opportunities, and math and science enrichment activities. Something for every child’s special interest! Community center sites are open to participants ages six to 14 and school sites to children ages six to 12. 
The program runs Monday through Friday. Lunch and an afternoon snack are included. (School Sites may offer breakfast and lunch instead of lunch and afternoon snack.) Fees are based on a sliding scale, according to income and family size. Program hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The school sites utilize school gymnasiums and outdoor enclosed areas.

Hamilton (10700 Nacogdoches Road) & Ramirez (1011 Gillette Blvd.) Community Centers:
• Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
• First and Third Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm 

Dawson (2500 E. Commerce) & Garza (1450 Mira Vista) Community Centers:
• Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
• First and Third Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

12 Apr 2019 Habitat for Humanity Coffee Break Tour 4/12/2019 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Coffee Break Tours are on-site walking tours of Habitat’s model home, training home, and Home Center. Unlike Hab-i-tours, Coffee Break Tours do not include a bus tour of our construction site. Guests are greeted at Habitat’s administrative offices with coffee and tacos and a Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio overview. A walking tour of the Habitat’s Home Center store, model home, and training house will follow.

Thrive Youth Center will be holding this event to bring awareness of our homeless LGBTQ youth population, and will provide education about community resources available.

This event will include presentations and interactive learning opportunities about Thrive Youth Center's Street Outreach program, as well as five ways to impact change in our community.
