SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 20, 2017) –San Antonio Public Library will reopen Landa Branch Library at 233 Bushnell Avenue on Thursday, Sept. 21. The library has been closed since June 5 for improvements to the historic building. The building received a complete exterior restoration and interior improvements to realign public service areas for better customer service and refresh furniture and paint. This project will ensure that the beautiful Landa Branch Library remains an iconic part of the San Antonio Public Library system for years to come. Funding in the amount of $815,000 was allocated from the City’s FY2016 and FY 2017 budgets for the improvements, in addition to $10,000 in private donations.
Holds for Landa Branch Library will be transferred from Tobin Library at Oakwell and will be available at Landa Library beginning Sept. 21. However, library patrons are encouraged to call 210-207-9090 to verify that holds are available before traveling to the branch for pick up.
San Antonio Public Library will celebrate the improvements and the library’s 70th anniversary with a family-friendly celebration from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14.
