SAN ANTONIO (November 1, 2017) – The following comments are Councilman Brockhouse’s remarks on the approval of his Council Consideration Request (CCR) to enhance the Open Records Request (ORR) process:

“Today the Governance Committee approved City staff’s recommendation, and our CCR, to strengthen the Open Records Request process with digital technology that will ensure all relevant information requested by citizens is available for review.  This upgrade to our process cannot be underestimated. Every citizen should have access to the information they request to hold their government accountable. I ran for public office under the promise to open up city government and be completely transparent. This is the first step to ensure everything we do at City Hall is open, transparent, and accountable to the people.  Thank you to the Government and Public Affairs Director Jeff Coyle and team, for examining their process to ensure we are doing the right things to strengthen public trust in government.”
