Treviño invites local children and seniors to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi
SAN ANTONIO (December 21, 2017) – This Friday, Councilman Trevino will host over 200 children from the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio at the Park North Alamo Drafthouse for a VIP showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. with an approximate 10 a.m. show time.
This will be the third year the District 1 Councilman takes the group to see the latest film from a galaxy far, far away. As part of the experience, each VIP will receive a light saber, an official movie poster (provided by Disney), and other memorabilia. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and take photos with an assortment of Star Wars characters in costume.
“I was a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs when I was young, too,” said Treviño. “Events like going to the movies or receiving presents are rare occurrences for many, and I am grateful to all of our partners for helping to give these awesome kids a fun holiday season.”
Earlier this week, the District 1 Councilman hosted area senior citizens for a special showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Seniors were treated to snacks, memorabilia, photos, and a special silver screen message from Councilman Treviño.
“This was a fun way to keep seniors engaged and active in the community,” said Treviño. “The audience was lively the entire movie, and it was just an incredible and unique experience.”
