SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 25, 2018) -- San Antonio Public Library has created the Mission City Film Festival to showcase and promote emerging and established filmmakers of San Antonio. As a community gathering place and center for information, imagination, and ideas, the Library is a natural place for creating and hosting a local film festival. San Antonio Public Library’s 30-location footprint enables the entire community to participate in the creative processes of art, film, literature, and more.

Festival creators are seeking submissions in five categories: Feature Film (over 60 minutes in length), Documentary, Short Film (10 – 59 minutes in length), Super Short Film (under 10 minutes in length), and Library Film (film submission of any length that features any San Antonio Public Library location).

Awards will be presented in six categories: Best Overall Picture, Best Documentary, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best San Antonio Public Library Film. Winners in each category will have their films shown at the Santikos Silverado movie theater on April 11, 2018 and in San Antonio Public Library locations throughout the year. In addition, the winner of Best Overall Picture will be awarded a trophy.

Filmmakers interested in submitting their work should visit filmfreeway.com/MissionCityFilmFestival for a complete list of submission rules and guidelines and additional information.
