SAN ANTONIO (April 3, 2018) — The Mayor’s Housing Policy Task Force will hold its second public input meeting this Saturday, April 7 from 8:30 a.m. until noon at Sam Houston High School, 4635 E. Houston St.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg is inviting the public to attend the meeting, which will include Spanish-language translators. Free parking will be available.
“As the task force moves closer to making policy recommendations, it is essential for them to hear the needs and concerns of residents before proposing affordable housing solutions,” Mayor Nirenberg said.
Lourdes Castro Ramirez, the panel’s chairwoman, will outline the Task Force’s purpose and the goals of the meeting. An overview of the Technical Working Groups will be provided to guide breakout groups, organized by Working Group category.
The meeting will conclude with a report from the breakout sessions and look ahead to next steps.
The Task Force has been working to develop a comprehensive and compassionate housing policy framework to address the city’s pressing affordable housing challenges. Policy recommendations will be informed by public input and technical working groups.
The second public input meeting is an integral part of community input as the Task Force prepared to propose policy action. Task force recommendations will need to be approved by City Council.
