SAN ANTONIO (April 11, 2018) – Yesterday, Mayor Nirenberg announced the formation of ConnectSA, a new non-profit charged with crafting a modern mobility plan for San Antonio. District 7 Councilwoman Ana Sandoval released the following statement:

A robust, reliable, and modern transportation network is long overdue in San Antonio. Public transportation must play a role in our future if we are to meet the challenges of a growing city that is increasingly on the national and international stage. A strong public transportation system will multiply our economic growth and enhance quality of life for all those who call San Antonio home. Beyond that, a strong public transportation system will break down the barriers of economic segregation by connecting residents – regardless of their income or neighborhood – to economic, education, and health opportunities. I applaud Mayor Nirenberg for his vision in assembling such an exceptional team. I am honored to serve as a director alongside Former Secretary of State Hope Andrade, Former Mayor Henry Cisneros, Former City Attorney Jane Macon, State Senator José Menéndez, State Representative Ina Minjarez, and Councilman Rey Saldaña. I am confident we will deliver a community-driven, future-focused mobility plan that works for all San Antonians.
