SAN ANTONIO (June 13, 2018) — The City Council met in Executive Session June 13th to discuss Paid Sick Leave legal issues.

“The City Council held a narrow Executive Session discussion today to review legal issues surrounding the Paid Sick Leave petition. Moving forward it is important the City Council hold dialogue on the merits of the ordinance in an open meeting so everyone in our community…the petitioners, the residents and the business community can be a part of the conversation. This may affect every employee and business owner in San Antonio and they must be included in the debate. As we have learned in the past, decisions made without key stakeholders erode the public’s trust. I look forward to a public briefing in B Session on the impact of Paid Sick Leave. I encourage every resident and business with a stake in the policy to step forward and engage City Hall with the facts to help us make the right decisions on this far-reaching employment initiative.”
