SAN ANTONIO (June 28, 2018) – Throughout the month of June, the City of San Antonio, Department of Human Services (DHS) has been celebrating Pride Month at its Senior Centers with workshops, discussions and celebrations for LGBTQIA seniors 60 years and older.
Remaining Pride Month celebrations:
Activities have included workshops such as Understanding Health Concerns presented by WellMed; Human Rights by the Alamo Area Council of Governments; and Fair Housing & Housing Discrimination provided by the Department of Human Services Family Assistance Division.
DHS provides services to more than 30,000 seniors across the City at 10 Comprehensive Senior Centers and 43 Senior Nutrition Program Sites with numerous community organizations and congregations. Through these sites, DHS serves almost 700,000 nutritious meals annually at no cost to older adults.
