The Boho Market First Friday Arts Market makes its debut at La Villita on September 7!
SAN ANTONIO (September 4, 2018) – The City of San Antonio invites the community to visit Market Square and La Villita this month for a wide variety of events.
Market Square Events (514 W. Commerce Street)
El Grito at Market Square
Saturday, September 15, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., El Grito ceremony at 9 p.m., FREE
The annual celebration of the Independence of Mexico takes place in the streets of San Antonio outside Historic Market Square. The highlight of this musical, gastronomic and civic celebration is the historical re-enactment of Mexico’s call for independence from Spain. Activities include live Mexican music, folklorico dancers, as well as food and craft vendors. The El Grito civic ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. on the main Santa Rosa stage and will be led by Ambassador Reyna Torres Mendivil, Consul General of Mexico in San Antonio.
Sunday, September 16, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., FREE
El Grito weekend continues with live music and entertainment, as well as food and craft vendors.

The Boho Market

In partnership with The Boho Market, La Villita will host a premiere First Friday Arts Market in Maverick Plaza. Stemming from a love of quality one-of-a-kind items, The Boho Market was formed to provide a place where hard-working makers and small business owners can showcase their amazing talents, and hosts local makers, curators, artisans, musicians, food, and drinks. Yoga Around La Villita
Tuesday, September 18 at 6 p.m., FREE for those who attend four of the first five sessions.
Need to unwind? Grab a friend and come participate in the Yoga Around La Villita series produced by La Villita and led by Mobile Om. The series occurs monthly through September. Free parking provided at all City of San Antonio lots and garages for Downtown Tuesday. Each hour-long session starts at 6 p.m. The next session will be on Tuesday, September 18 at Plaza Nacional at La Villita.
