San Antonio (September 13, 2018) - San Antonio International Airport hosted the celebration of two ultra-low cost airlines as they joined together to offer travelers more options. Frontier and Volaris Airlines launched their new codeshare agreement with several top executives in attendance to mark the milestone. Ron Nirenberg, Mayor of San Antonio, Barry Biffle, President and CEO, Frontier, Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice-President of Volaris, and Russ Handy, Aviation Director for the City of San Antonio cut the ribbon to mark and celebrate the codeshare agreement.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this historic announcement today. The codeshare agreement offers customers an incredibly convenient opportunity to seamlessly book and travel between multiple U.S. and Mexico destinations. Frontier and Volaris are fantastic teammates here at San Antonio International Airport and this new partnership further strengthens that relationship”, said Handy.
Volaris and Frontier have added a combined 269 new routes to offer customers more choices and lower fares.
This new codeshare agreement has been in development for more than a year and is the first of its kind in the world between ultra-low cost carriers.
