SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 25, 2018) — Today, Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran, along with other civic leaders, joined Texas A&M University Chancellor, John Sharp, and University President, Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, for the grand opening of the Science & Technology Building and the dedication of the Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement at Texas A&M University – San Antonio.
“The fact that Texas A&M University – San Antonio is the only four-year institution of higher learning in District 3 and south of downtown makes it one of the most valued educational resources in our city,” said Councilwoman Viagran. “Now, with the top-notch programs and facilities offered at the Science & Technology Building, more STEM students will be prepared to compete in a global job market after graduation. The Mays Center is another milestone in our City’s efforts to enhance civic engagement opportunities. Our community is extremely proud of the leadership Dr. Teniente-Matson has exhibited and the partnerships she has fostered with us at the City to ensure we are building together a dynamic and prosperous future for all San Antonians.”
