SAN ANTONIO (Oct.11, 2018) – SmartSA, a partnership between the City of San Antonio, CPS Energy, San Antonio Water System, VIA Metropolitan Transit, and the San Antonio River Authority to build a connected, inclusive and resilient community supporting a high quality of life, is calling on San Antonio residents to speak up about the ways technology can improve the community.
Residents can provide feedback through a brief SmartSA survey, available in English and Spanish at https://www.sanantonio.gov/smartsa/Innovation-Zones. The survey asks residents to identify the challenges or issues they face in their daily lives. The survey input will be used to identify ways technology can make the biggest impact. SmartSA “street teams” will be taking surveys straight to San Antonio residents at events, spaces and public places they frequent in the month of October.
In June of this year, the SmartSA partner agencies announced three Innovation Zones – Brooks, Downtown and the Medical Center - to identify the biggest challenges in each zone and to test new processes and technologies in a real-world setting as part of its smart city initiative. An Innovation Zone is a defined geographical area utilized for testing innovative technology to address challenges identified by the community. The Zones will enable the organizations to proactively and collaboratively explore cutting-edge technology and make educated investments in solutions.
We want to know what challenges you face whether you live, work, play, or visit in any of the three designated Innovation Zones. Your input will help SmartSA develop new innovative technologies to address your challenges. Take the survey today at SanAntonio.gov/SmartSA.
