SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 18, 2018) — Today’s City Council approval of the Alamo Plan is about family, legacy and inclusion. Stories that have long been silent will finally be told.

“As a descendant of the Alamo, approving the Alamo Plan means we can now tell the whole story of Misión San Antonio de Valero and provide enhancements for locals to once again reconnect with a piece of our City’s history, all while welcoming new visitors and keeping 24/7 access, with a formal point of entrance,” said Councilwoman Viagran. “I thank the Citizen Advisory Committee, both Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush for their partnership in approving a bold plan that was brought before us today that will benefit both San Antonio and the great state of Texas for generations to come.”

“Approval of this plan concludes multiple years of community and stakeholder planning efforts to create strategies necessary to achieve the concepts in the Master Plan,” said Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran. “The City has collected input from the community, and I am committed to be engaged through the design and implementation phases of this plan to ensure that we celebrate the integrity, and spirit of our city while planning for the future.”
