SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 9, 2019) – The Office of the City Clerk invites the public to take advantage of the upcoming Passport & Vital Records Day by applying for passports now to avoid last minute Spring Break travel delays. The Vital Records Division will also be open to issue birth certificates to qualified customers. The event will be held on Saturday, January 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 719 S. Santa Rosa; free parking is available.

“This Saturday’s event makes the passport process easier for parents, as both parents must be present to apply for their children younger than age 16,” said City Clerk Leticia Vacek.  “In addition, individuals who cannot make it to our offices during normal operating hours can take advantage of these Saturday services.”

Appointments are not necessary and walk-ins are welcome.  Passport applications can be found at www.travel.state.gov.  Printed applications can be completed in advance using black ink and brought to Saturday’s event.

Passports for individuals ages 16 and older cost $110 and are valid for 10 years.  The cost for minors under the age of 16 is $80 and passports are valid for five years.  Fees are made payable to the U.S. Department of State by check or money order.  There is a City processing fee of $35 that may be paid with cash, a credit/debit card, check or money order made payable to the City of San Antonio.  As an added convenience, passport photos will be available on location for an additional fee.

For more information on fees and application requirements, call 210-207-4214 or visit www.sanantonio.gov/MunicipalArchivesRecords/Passports.
